New Bible Study
Father Bragg will be leading a New Testament Bible class, this time on the Epistle to the Hebrews. The format will be the same as the Mark class, i.e., a preliminary lecture about the book followed by a series of lectures on the text itself using a lecture with Q and A format rather than a general discussion approach.
It will begin at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, 11 September and meet every Wednesday evening thereafter until we complete the book, with each session lasting close to ninety minutes. The only text book will be the Bible itself.
Hebrews is an important book for a number of reasons:
the primary source for much of our understanding of Christ as The Great High Priest, and
a source for how much of the Church's self-understanding is derived from the foundation laid by God both in the Old Testament Scriptures and in the life of ancient Israel.
All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee
